Venus is a beautiful Goldie/Orbit daughter and truly an awesome dog. She has a very cool, laid back personality, but don't mistake her for a couch potato. She is a very calm, sensitive girl but is ready to go at the drop of a hat. Even though she is laid back she is very much aware of her surroundings, she is also very inquisitive and checks out everything. If there is anything out to the ordinary going on she must investigate and make sure everything is secure. She loves to be by my side, she lives to please.

Blue is the incredible Halle/Timber son, grandson of Artus. He is a happy go lucky boy who loves everyone. He has the greatest personality and is one of the most handsome and heavy boned male with a massive head out there. He is currently working towards his championship.

I expect this litter to have extremely large, heavy boned puppies with big block heads and small Shiloh ears. There should be some serious show prospects in this litter with personalities and temperaments to die for! They will be very willing workers who want to please. I expect both coat types, gray & golden sables as well as duals!

These puppies should be truly awesome. Look at the giants in the Orbit line and look at the heavy bone and working ability of the Artus line. I think they will most certainly be an asset to our gene pool.

Venus went to the vet to have a check up and her x-ray.

Well the good news is she is in excellent health, she looks beautiful and so far her pregnancy is going extremely well. Dr. K was pleased.

Now on to the exciting news.......in Venus's x-ray we were able to see definitely 8 puppies maybe 9 or 10! So what this means is we need to keep the "guess the number of puppies" game going because we won't have a winner until the puppies arrive. We have a week, eta of the puppies is 10/27....that is only 7 days away!

Venus blessed us with 5 males, 3 females.....4 duals 4 sables, all pups were one pound plus.....more info/pictures coming soon, stay tuned! Momma and babies are doing just great!

Venus is doing really well. Her incision is healing up nicely, no more fever and she is eating really good. She is just the sweetest girl and an awesome Mom! Even though she is all shaved, she is still one of the most beautiful shilohs I have seen.

And the puppies.....they are just beautiful, I'm sure you will all agree.

WEEK 1 - November 3, 2004
The puppies were one week old on Monday and they are just beautiful. Considering the rough time Venus had the little ones and Venus are doing just great! I want to give you a run down on colors as well as weights. I can see changes in them everyday! They are growing so quick, their little ears already have fur on them and they wiggle…..it’s the cutest thing. Their weights as of one week old are:

They are beginning to develop their own individual little personalities. For example, the Ice Blue male when he nurses, happily wags his tail in a circle, the Green male complains loudly when it takes more than a nano second to get to his favorite feeding spot. And the Wine female does long, deep contented sighs after she has eaten her full and goes to snuggle with her brothers and sisters. The Silver male, well he nurses upside down and you can actually see his little belly fill up the Momma’s milk. I can just sit and watch them for hours!

November 5, 2004 (10 days)
The puppies are growing in leaps and bounds! I'm not partial or anything but they are just so cute!

WEEK 2 - November 9, 2004
The puppies just turned 14 days old yesterday, Mom and babies are doing phenominal. All the pups have put on about a half a pound or more since they were weighed at 10 days old.

The puppies are just starting to open their little eyes and some are standing and some are attempting to walk. It's very exciting.

The Mint girl just loves her belly rubbed already and the Silver male has a tickle spot. Just below his ear if you rub him his little back leg starts to scratch. It's the cutest thing to watch. Also, when they use me as a teething ring my fingers can now feel the beginnings of their little razor sharp teeth.

WEEK 3 - November 16, 2004

Well I'm happy to report they really are like puppies now! They can see, hear and they have already learned how to escape the whelping box. Also, their little teeth are coming in. They love to cuddle and give give kisses (I know they are just looking for food but in my mind they are giving kisses, humor me). Still can't tell what their coats will yet, that will take a couple more weeks.

They are already eating 3 meals a day, when they see me coming with their saucer pan they all start yipping and they all start tumbling and climbing over one another to get out of the whelping box. The whole time talking up a storm until I put the pan down with the exception of the Navy male, he talks the whole time he eats. We have video taped this, it is the funnest thing to see and hear. Judging by the amount that he eats I think he is telling the rest to back off of his meal. He even throws himself over the whole pan so the rest have trouble finding a spot to eat. He is so bad and so cute at the same time. He gets so mad when I lift him off the pan and put him in one spot. He really complains then. I wish you all could see him in action.

One or two are howlers and last night Joe got on the floor with them and one started howling and then Joe started howling and before you know it all eight puppies had thrown their heads back and were howling all together. It was so very cool. Everyday they do something new and it is so amazing!
